As is my drug of choice, I listened to the narrations of James Marsters. He has become the voice of these characters and I could not imagine Harry without him. Oh, where to begin. Let me just get this off my chest before I burst...we hear Mouse speak. It was brilliant! Perfection. I laughed so hard I had tears and we were in the middle of some intense shite when it happened. You might remember I am not a big Susan fan. Well, in Changes I decided I hate her. Strong words I know, but she reveals aIt's hard to keep reviewing these without pretty much saying the same thing over and over. The game has been stepped up for these last couple books (like 5 at this point), in plot, writing, stakes, everything. This series go from a fun popcorn series at first to some of my favorite books of all time possibly.I keep thinking, there's no way he can up the stakes after the last book and then he proves me wrong. The stakes in Changes were as high as they get with the Red Court. And if you haven't
Changes was, in my opinion, the best of The Dresden Files so far. We have Harry with his usual hang-ups but the problem is more thorny than anything he's faced so far. Susan Rodriguez, an old flame who's been turned into a half-vampire, kept a major secret. Now Harry's enemies know it and they're out for revenge.... I could feel the emotions that were stirring somewhere deep inside me, gathering power like a storm far out to sea. I couldn't see them. I could only feel their effects, but it was

I knew this book was going to hold some big developments in this series just because of the title. Changes. And I wasn't wrong. This 12th book in The Dresden Files series is my favorite so far. Action packed and full of surprises, Changes kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. Susan Rodrieguez, Dresden's former girlfriend and now half vampire, comes back into his life, asking for help with a dire situation. Dresden is caught off guard by some of her secrets, now revealed, but rallies

Long ago, Susan Rodriguez was Harry Dresden's lover-until she was attacked by his enemies, leaving her torn between her own humanity and the bloodlust of the vampiric Red Court. Susan then disappeared to South America, where she could fight both her savage gift and those who cursed her with it. Susan is back and she has a big surprise for Harry in this one. If you've read the synopsis then you probably already know what it is, but if you haven't I would recommend not reading it so you don't
3.5 starsAs the title implies, this is a pivotal book in the Dresden Files. Everything is deadlier, bigger, more serious, more urgent. I really appreciate Butcher letting his inner nerd come out more here with plenty of references to Star Wars and Lord of the Rings and other fandoms. So theres some good humor to counteract the darkness.MINOR SPOILERS FOR EARLIER BOOKS AHEADThis is the first Dresden book that isnt two words. There are changes for all the characters. In the opening scene, Susan
