At fourteen, Nick Gautier thinks he knows everything about the world around him. Streetwise, tough and savvy, his quick sarcasm is the stuff of legends. . .until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, Nick is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.

Nick quickly learns that the human world is only a veil for a much larger and more dangerous one: a world where the captain of the football team is a werewolf and the girl he has a crush on goes out at night to stake the undead. But before he can even learn the rules of this new world, his fellow students are turning into flesh eating zombies. And he's next on the menu.

As if starting high school isn't hard enough. . .now Nick has to hide his new friends from his mom, his chainsaw from the principal, and keep the zombies and the demon Simi from eating his brains, all without getting grounded or suspended. How in the world is he supposed to do that?

Crit Epithetical Books Infinity (Chronicles of Nick #1)
Surprisingly, I liked Infinity. I think Im gonna have to re-think my YA phobia- and there is no doubt this is a YA. Nick Gautier, introduced in Kenyons popular Dark Hunter series, is- or was- and now is- a squire (aka errand boy) for Dark Hunter Kryian Thrace. (FYI: Dark Hunters, among other things, are vampiric-type demon hunters whom only come out at night. Sorta. But not really.) In Infinity, we get the beginning of the story- when Kyrian (Night Pleasures) saves Nick from a pack of hoodlums

Nick already has plenty of struggles in his life - he's poor, constantly has to defend his exotic dancer of a mother, and he is smart enough to want to stay out of trouble despite society's pressures to keep him in the gutter. It seems that he is destined to feel more struggles as supernatural begin to influence him as well when he is rescued from a beating by a Dark Hunter and exposed to the supernatural world. This story is pretty action-packed. I was surprised when there was a zombie outbreak

This was okay, but I did have some issues with it. Firstly it was ridiculously long! It seemed to go on forever, and the slow pace just made it really drag.Secondly, it was pretty unbelievable in places like a strange would pay a 14-year-old boy $1000 a week to run a few errands, and give him a mobile phone and credit card? I dont buy it.Thirdly, the whole zombie thing was just thrown in there, and it seemed really unbelievable. Not to mention that the way Nick just accepted that there were

The characters in this were alright, and they came out with a few funny lines that made me laugh. There was a few times where they annoyed me though. The stroyline in this was okay, but I started to feel a bit bored around halfway because of how long the book felt. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if I had been reading something else alongside it though. Overall, An okay read.

Oh that was entertaining!!! This is also the first book I ready from Mrs Kenyon, yeah I know - shame on me. But I think I'm glad I started with her YA series before digging into the mature stuff. ;) The cover always crabbed me but somehow I never picked it up, I guess I was afraid when I read Nick is supposed to be 14 and this sounds more MG than YA to me - but..duhh! I'm glad I did now, I truly enjoyed myself and I will most definitely go and buy the next one right away. This is the very rich

I am completely addicted to this series! I finished this one last night but instead of taking the time to write a review right away, I started book two. I am almost done book two but will be moving on to book three tonight right away before writing that review. This series is amusing from characters to funny dialogue with entertaining action. I was thoroughly taken right away with this world! I love it! My quick and simple overall: this series is addictive and the interactions between the
