Blood Slave (The Nightlife)
Hope’s telepathic ability keeps her a step ahead of ruin, but her unusual gift attracts the attention of a psychotic vampire bitch. Trapped in a Manhattan penthouse with the psycho, she thought she was dead meat.
Her survival lies in the hands of Vampire Master Enrique. He seems to respect her, perhaps even care. As a measure of protection, he makes her his personal Bloodslave. Helplessly addicted to his bite, Enrique rules her every moment. As always, Hope must adapt to survive.
Swept into the decadent nightlife of Manhattan's elite, she falls in love with Enrique and prays someday he may grow to love her, too. But is it simply a relationship of convenience? Is she nothing more than a concubine desperate to satisfy his nightly demands for blood and sex?
And forever in the background is the fear that one day the cartel boss she abandoned will hunt her down to collect on old debts.
'Blood Slave' is the latest in Travis Luedke's paranormal romance series 'The Nightlife'.Luedke, however, departs from his usual 'city-based' formula with characters Aaron and Michelle, to portray the story of Esperanza de Salvador, a prostitute working for a drug cartel. The other departure for the author is that this novel is written in the first person - and hence from a female perspective.Twenty-two-year-old Esperanza (real name 'Hope') has lived a brutalised existence. I got this book for a free for a honest review. Amazing book. I fell in love with the characters. I'm giving this book 5 stars.

This book was completely outside the realm of what I typically gravitate to as far as books go, but I must say I am happy I decided to give this one a go. While I may not be an illegal alien prostitute from Columbia, I think many of us can relate to Hope's rough and tumble exterior and her strong desire for true and unconditional love. This book seems dark and WOWSA is it steamy and extremely intense at times; however, in the end we can clearly see there is hope for Hope. *pun intended :)*
Wonderfully twisted! I hated and loved him. I wanted to kill him, fuck him, and kiss him, all at the same time. What a mess. Hate won the toss up as the strongest sentiment of the moment... On the fence about starting The Nightlife series?Start here with this spin-off stand alone! You'll get a taste for Travis Luedke's unique spin on PNR, and become instantly hooked on this deliciously dark, entertaining, sexy, and violent world. It's fitting that we find ourselves back in New York with this
This story was amazingly good. It is a story not for the faint of heart. It speaks of cartels, prostitution, drug addiction. I loved the main's character strength, her will to live regardless of the difficulties, her strength at facing the next challenge. This is a story full of erotic sexy scenes. A world of criminals and all the things involved in a world like that. It has it's taste of drama, mystery, but it is mostly sexy. Wow. Isn't the cover gorgeous? I always appreciate a visually appealing cover. Okay, moving on. Blood Slave blew me away. Instantly, I was drawn into Hope's world, a world full of gritty, unspeakable issues that were hard at times to experience. Her courage and determination to survive kept me invested in the story. The ending caught me off-guard but in a good way. For a moment there, I was worried Hope wouldn't retain her sense of self. After all, she experiences horrific tragedies. A lesser

I liked this book a lot for one main reason, the main character. She draws you into her world and it makes it as real as can be. Very well done by the writer! This was a different sort of book. It draws the reality of what is probably the life some people actually lead, and combines it with a paranormal trip! This is not what I would consider a YA book tho. Would recommend.'Blood Slave' is the latest in Travis Luedke's paranormal romance series 'The Nightlife'.Luedke, however, departs from his usual 'city-based' formula with characters Aaron and Michelle, to portray the story of Esperanza de Salvador, a prostitute working for a drug cartel.
