Morrell is great at the super secret agent genre.Liked the first book in trilogy. This one was okay. Have to read the last one to find out the ending to the stories.
If All Books Were Held to this Standard, We Would Never Be DisappointedFraternity of the Stone, along with Brotherhood of the Rose, are two of the best books I have ever read. Throughout this book, I was never once disappointed and at all times captivated by the characters, the attention to detail, and the fast paced nature of the plot lines. With all the spy and espionage books available, it is important to return to books that were, and still remain, a cut above. This is a spy book at the peak
Action packed!!! First time with this author. Didnt even know he wrote Rambo.
Second novel written by David Morrell featuring former spies/assassins trying to find peace amidst all the carnage caused as much by their agencies as by their opponents.Unlike the The Broterhood of the Rose ending is more sober - main character ends up in exile both trying to find peace and elude his pursuers. For everyone who likes action, adventure and stories about highly skilled assassins trying to live with their conscience look no further.Highly recommended.
I discovered this book/series well after it was written (1985) and I think what I like most is how all the "way out there" technology is now so dinosaur-ish. It just goes to show how great a read this is because even though it was written so long ago, it is still compelling and relevant and exciting to the very end.
