I really liked the complex plot, once it got out of a redundancy rut at about the halfway mark (the same portions of the case were summed up three times in the first thirty-six pages, without any/much new details). After reading book one, Submerged, I couldn't wait to read the next book in the series and was excited when I got hold of a copy of Shattered.Everything I loved about book 1 in the series continued in book 2. The suspense was great, lots of twists and turns that kept you fascinated and never knowing who the murderer is or why until the very end, and even then he didn't make it easy. Congratulations to my friend, Dani Pettrey! I thoroughly enjoyed Shattered. Right at the outset of the novel, a murder occurs. The heroine's brother is arrested for the murder and so the heroine (Piper) and the hero (Landon) set off to track down the real killer and thus free Piper's brother. I was intrigued by the mysterious past of the murder victim and I had a ball following along with Piper and Landon as they uncovered a trail of clues and -- along the way -- faced their feelings for one

You don't want to miss this one!I have been eagerly awaiting the release of Shattered since I read Submerged last year. Reconnecting with the McKennas is such a delight! I fell in love with Piper and Landon from the beginning and I'm so happy their story came next.Picking a favorite McKenna is like picking a favorite book or child, you just shouldn't do it.
