Embrace The Darkness (Guardians of Eternity #2)
Lady Shay is the last of her kind. Half human, half Shalott, her blood is a precious aphrodisiac to vampires, who consider it more precious than gold. Though Shalotts are renowned assassins, a curse held over Shay lands her on the slave auction block, where her fate is uncertain-
OR THE MAN WHO WILL RISK IT ALL
Viper, the beguiling chief of a deadly vampire clan, can't explain his longing to possess the beautiful Shalott who once saved his life, but now he is free to do anything he wants with her. Strangely, while he desires both Shay-s blood and body, he wants her to surrender willingly.
TO SAVE HER LIFE?
A hidden evil has been stalking Shay since she left the slave market with Viper. It is an evil that endangers the very existence of Viper's kind, and there's no reason he should court such danger just to protect a Shalott. But the love he feels for Shay is enough to make him willing to go to hell and back if it means spending an eternity with her in his arms.
Great followup to the first Guardians of Eternity book. Shay is a half-blood Shalott, some sort of demon whose blood is a major attractant to vampire's. She is a slave that was held by the coven of witches in the first book. She helped dante, Abby and Viper to defeat the witch.Viper is the leader of the Chicago clan of vampire's. Immensely wealthy and dangerous gorgeous. He is attracted to Shay and buy's her at an auction to be his slave. Then all hell breaks loose. Some other demon is after Shay
Shay is half human, half shalott. Her blood is craved by vampires and because of this shalotts are extinct. For the last eighty years, Shay has been a slave, sold and beaten again and again, all because of a curse that makes it impossible for her to escape. And when Shay is to be sold again at an auction, the last person she expected to buy her was the vampire Viper, who she recently saved from a witch attack. And despite her unwanted fascination with Viper, she hates all vampires because one of

I reminded me of days best left pushed to the back of the world's history. The insight and drama and of course Levet. It was nice to see what Dante and Abby have been up to.
I think this one was better than the 1st one. Maybe because I understood more of the world building, not sure. And I liked the 1st one. In fact Dante & Abby make a few appearances, but never overtake our H/h in importance. Our H is Viper the vamp from #1 and our h is Shay, the Shallot halfdemon, also from #1. So we already have a history with them, which was nice. Not just the last 3 pages from #1 but a good substantial background which meant we could get straight into the story.Everybody

I really enjoyed the 2nd book in this Guardians of Eternity series. Like the first one, it had a great mix of romance and humor which I really love in a book. I loved our hero Viper, he was hilarious, and our heroine Shay was a mix of strength and vunerability that I also liked. Prior to this series I had never read anything by Alexandra Ivy, but she has my attention now, so I would suggest to anyone to give this series a chance, hopefully the remaining books in the series are all just as goodGreat followup to the first Guardians of Eternity book.
