Comment On Of Books Tuesday's Child

Without a doubt, Bagshawe makes for an easy read, and so her books are fun holiday literature! This I found an enjoyable light-hearted read, if incredibly predictable, cheesy and downright cringeworthy at times. The ending I found a disappointment, and felt that the last few pages had been rushed. Regardless, I can't say I was expecting that much in the first place in the sense of an intellectual read!!

This book was given to me by a friends kind of spontaneously when I was visiting her at her country house. I remember because she didn't think about it for a second, she just saw the book sitting on the bookshelf and gave it to me. It was a sweet book and I enjoyed it while it lasted. It is not a serious read and definitely not full of some great wisdom, but I remember I cried at the ending because it was so sweet.

London is not a very nice place...Grace is living the dream. She is in her dream job, lives with her best friend with very cheap rent. Everything is going great... Until Ollie (her best friend) announces he is getting married to his girlfriend Victoria and needs Grace to move out of the house. Not only this Grace also loses her job and realises she is actually in love with Ollie. I found some of the things that happened to Grace a bit unbelievable. *3.5 stars* Overall, a good story. It has a great mix of bitchy, kind and sleazy characters. The ending was my favourite part - it was so moving and beautiful, it brought me to tears. My only exceptions with this book, is that it was quite slow in the beginning and the quality of the writing was a bit poor. Otherwise, an enjoyable story!

Louise Bagshawe does such great characters. The bitches are vicious and the rest are just very real in their actions. The main character, Lucy, stumbles at what life throws at her and struggles to tackle it as best she knows (and doesn't know) how. A funny story of a tom boy turning into a Sloane ranger, before figuring out where she belongs (somewhere in between).

This wasn't my favorite book by this author but it was good nonetheless. I think what irked me the most were the changes that the main character was going through to become more 'feminine' and in the circumstances she found herself in she felt the changes were a viable option. Throughout the book I was finding myself becoming a little angry that she wasn't following what was good for her and what she liked. I bought this book as just a light summer read and that is exactly what it is. You can guess how its going to end from the first few chapters. I found myself so frustrated with the main character as she comes off so stupid and naive its hard to find believable. I would recommend it as a very very light summer read but don't expect much else.
