Narrative Concering Books Shadow Man (Smoky Barrett #1)

Once, Special Agent Smoky Barrett hunted serial killers for the FBI. She was one of the best until a madman terrorized her family, killed her husband and daughter, and left her face scarred and her soul brutalized. Turning the tables on the killer, Smoky shot him dead but her life was shattered forever.

Now Smoky dreams about picking up her weapon again. She dreams about placing the cold steel between her lips and pulling the trigger one last time. Because for a woman who's lost everything, what is there left to lose?

She's about to find out.

In all her years at the Bureau, Smoky has never encountered anyone like him: a new and fascinating kind of monster, a twisted genius who defies profilers' attempts to understand him. And he's issued Smoky a direct challenge, coaxing her back from the brink with the only thing that could convince her to live.

The killer videotaped his latest crime, an act of horror that left a child motherless, then sent a message addressed to Agent Smoky Barrett. The message is enough to shock Smoky back to work, back to her FBI team. And that child awakens something in Smoky she thought was gone forever.

Suddenly the stakes are raised. The game has changed. For as this deranged monster embarks on an unspeakable spree of perversion and murder, Smoky is coming alive again and she's about to face her greatest fears as a cop, a woman, a mother—and a merciless killer's next victim.

Notice Of Books Shadow Man (Smoky Barrett #1)
Shadow Man was recommended to me by a trusted Goodreads thriller fan friend (Thanks Christine), who gave it an easy 10 (YES 10) stars! How could I resist immediately getting this book and reading it! Although I dont completely agree with her 10 star assessment, it was still an extremely entertaining, thrilling read!Smoky Barrett was a top FBI agent hunting serial killers until one night her and her family were terrorised by one. Her husband and daughter were killed, leaving Smokey alone and

TEN SHINY, "bleeping" STARS. I know that is inappropriate, but my dear God. This book is terrifying. It's basically a psychological warfare on one's mind that things like this actually happen. People can be plain, old psychopaths. There is no cure for that and what is worse, there's more of them than we imagine. I can't believe this was a debut novel. It is well written, gripping and the most twisted book I have ever read. Not that I am a library of knowledge, but I know what a great book reads

I just loved this book. This book isn't for everyone. It was definitely for me! This book is very horrifying! Its not for the faint of heart. I had to put it down a couple of times because in some parts I just could not handle it. It is an excellent book. The author writes so well! It is very suspenseful. Its so hard for me to say what its about because I don't want to spoil it. Also I can not put in words the justice that this book deserves. I can tell you that if you are a fan of Karin

What a find! One of the best serial killer books I can remember reading!Six months ago, Smoky Barrett's life came to a screeching halt as a serial killer she had been chasing broke into her house and tortured and killed her husband, daughter, and almost herself. Smoky shot him but she bears acute physical and emotional scars. Smoky has to make up her mind whether to kill herself or get back to the hunt as another serial killer sends a personal message to her and her elite team of investigators.

This is a very good serial killer fiction book. I loved Smoky Barrett! This is a very talented author. Just excellent writing. Author is well versed in forensics and profiling. I'm starting the second in the series straight away,The Face of Death!

Smoky Barrett wakes up most nights screaming, reliving the torture and murder of her husband and daughter by a serial killer. She has been away from the FBI on leave and frankly doesnt know if she will ever be able to go back to work. She can barely make it through a day. But when her best friend is killed by a serial killer who believes he is the ancestor of Jack the Ripper, she is pulled back in to the FBI by the killer himself. She soon finds her team helps make her feel needed as she chases

Greetings Thrill Seekers, You've stumbled upon this message so perhaps you'll take the time to learn of who I am. I hope you don't mind but I've chosen FBI Special Agent Smoky Barrett to introduce us. Smoky is a scarred woman, inside and out, but she is said to be the best violent crimes agent within the FBI. Her L.A. based team is said to be the best of it's kind at solving horrendous crimes. So Smoky Barrett will have to do.She will acquaint you with my torture, rape, murder ... genius. You
